Tom consistently delivers the requisite pragmatism, balance and sense of reason needed to untangle even the most complex disputes. With a practice that is national in scope, Tom’s experience includes a wide variety of actions involving breach of contract claims arising from mergers, acquisitions and stock and asset purchase agreements. He litigates shareholder, member and partner rights, including claims for breach of fiduciary duty and fraud, as well as securities actions involving fraud, suitability claims and FINRA arbitrations and investigations.
In addition, Tom represents employers in litigating employee restrictive covenant disputes, trade secret claims and employment contract actions. He also guides clients through disputes pertaining to business torts such as unfair competition and interference with contractual relations, as well as prosecutes and litigates class actions, derivative actions and other complex litigation.
Tom has forged a reputation for direct and productive communication; from the onset of a matter, Tom identifies his client’s goal and then designs a strategy around realizing that result. Known as a litigator who gets to the heart of the problem and resolves it as quickly as possible, Tom brings the mentality of a business professional to litigation case management.

Tom earned his B.A. from Emory University in 1973 and his J.D., cum laude, from Samford University in 1977. Tom served on the editorial board of the Law Review and was a member of the International Law Moot Court Team.
