Taylor L. Hunter is an attorney and member of the Labor and Employment Law Department in Barnes & Thornburg's Indianapolis office. Taylor focuses her practice in the area of education law with an emphasis on employment, student disability matters and contract negotiations, assisting the team primarily with EEOC and litigation related issues.
Taylor’s practice covers virtually all areas of labor and employment law, including litigation concerning discriminatory practices, worker’s compensation benefits, collective bargaining agreement administration, and grievance and arbitration proceedings.
She has represented clients in state and federal courts through various stages of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling to alternative dispute resolution. She has also represented clients before a variety of administrative agencies including the EEOC, ICRC, and the Fort Wayne Human Rights Commission. In addition to labor and employment matters, Taylor is also a member of the firm’s School Law Practice Group, in which she provides a broad range of legal services to primary, secondary, and post-secondary public and private schools. She has represented school corporations on matters pertaining to teacher and student discipline, discrimination complaints, sports and other extra-curricular issues, and civil litigation.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg as a staff attorney, Taylor gained experience as an associate with an Indianapolis-based law firm where she assisted in the areas of family law, traffic issues, small claims, criminal law and litigation.
