Susan E. Weatherly is a paralegal in Barnes & Thornburg's Indianapolis, Indiana office. She is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Law Department and its Immigration and Global Mobility Services group.
Susan was a paralegal with Roberts, Ryder, Rogers & Scism, a law firm exclusively engaged in the representation of management in labor and employment law, until the firm merged with Barnes & Thornburg in 1987.
Susan assists attorneys in all aspects of traditional labor law including evaluating and ranking arbitrator panels, interviewing witnesses, preparing testimony outlines and exhibits for arbitration hearings; researching arbitration cases; preparing drafts of arbitration briefs; conducting research and drafting handouts for union avoidance campaigns; investigating agency level discrimination charges and drafting position statements; and conducting wage-hour and employment audits.
Susan also assists attorneys in employment litigation defense including drafting various pleadings, interviewing witnesses, maintaining document inventories, preparing case chronologies, summarizing deposition and hearing transcripts, drafting correspondence, conducting proposition research and assisting with trial preparation.
Susan has made presentations to clients and human resources groups on such topics as wage-and-hour issues, employment verification procedures and business immigration.
