Robert represents a wide range of businesses and individual clients in a variety of matters, including intellectual property counseling, trademark licensing and prosecution, trade dress, copyright, domain name and technology issues. He evaluates and manages IP portfolios and also handles IP audits and policy development initiatives.
Robert advises and consults on trademark and copyright infringement, branding strategies, management of domestic trademarks, and opposition and cancellation matters. He plays a strategic role in the negotiation and drafting of domain name licensing agreements and settlements, as well as employment and independent contractor agreements. In addition, Robert has represented clients in arbitration proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He also has experience in conducting due diligence investigations related to IP protection as part of company mergers and acquisitions.
Frequently, Robert works with his clients to identify potential licenses and joint ventures that offer the potential to expand market share and maximize ROI. Notably, he has worked with myriad foreign-owned companies by assisting them to identify potential domestic partners that aid in expanding their products and services in the U.S. market.
Robert has been involved in subject matter that ranges from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to software and manufacturing, to air purifying and power lines. Regardless of the industry or matter, Robert is valued by clients and colleagues for his ability to devise solutions that are grounded in the law, particularly regarding his clients’ marketing endeavors, yet practical and strategic when it comes to furthering their business objectives.
