Barnes & Thornburg Partner Connie Lahn Elected Fellow of American College of Bankruptcy

MINNEAPOLIS – The American College of Bankruptcy has elected Connie Lahn, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Minneapolis office, to its 30th class of Fellows. Lahn, who is now one of only 15 total fellows in Minnesota, will be inducted during a ceremony in Coronado, California, on March 15, 2019.

The College, formed in 1989, recognizes exceptional bankruptcy professionals for their work, public service and integrity. Fellows are selected on an invitation only basis, chosen by a Board of Regents from recommendations of the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit. Of the 25 inductees in the 2019 class, Lahn is one of two nominees from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Criteria for selection include: the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership in contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency processes; sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing or writing on bankruptcy or insolvency; and commitment to elevate knowledge and understanding of the profession and public respect for the practice.

At Barnes & Thornburg, Lahn is a member of the Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department; co-chairs both the Asset Revitalization Practice Group and Special Servicer Team; and serves on the diversity and inclusion committee.

Connie Lahn represents Fortune 500 companies and other business concerns across the country on bankruptcy law, workouts, equipment leasing, foreclosures, real estate remedies, and commercial mortgage-backed securities defaults, including all related litigation.

Lahn was recognized in the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency reorganization law, and she has been listed by Minnesota Super Lawyers every year since 2007.

With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from 14 offices in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, Texas and Washington, D.C.
