Chambers USA Recognizes Barnes & Thornburg Attorneys, Practice Groups in Annual Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - Chambers USA: A Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers in Business has recognized Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 11 practice areas, with five earning the publication’s top honors. Also receiving accolades are 47 attorneys who were named for their work in a number of practice areas.

Barnes & Thornburg’s Chambers rankings page, which includes client commentary about individuals and practices, can be viewed on the Chambers website. Band 1 is the highest ranking.

The directory, a publication produced annually by London-based Chambers & Partners, gave high ratings to Barnes & Thornburg practices in: 

  • Banking & Finance (Michigan, Band 3) 
  • Corporate/M&A (Indiana, Band 1; Michigan, Band 3) 
  • Environment (Illinois, Band 1; Indiana, Band 1) 
  • Healthcare (Illinois, Band 3) 
  • Insurance: Dispute Resolution (Illinois, Band 3) 
  • Intellectual Property (Illinois, Band 4; Minnesota, Band 3)
  • International Trade (Nationwide, Recognized Practitioner) 
  • Labor & Employment (California, Band 4; Georgia, Recognized Practitioner; Indiana, Band 1; Michigan, Band 3) 
  • Litigation: General Commercial (Illinois, Recognized Practitioner; Indiana, Band 1) 
  • Product Liability & Mass Torts (Nationwide, Recognized Practitioner)

Several attorneys were added this year to bolster Barnes & Thornburg’s rankings in the antitrust area for Texas, labor and employment in Michigan, and media and entertainment in California. Earning nationwide up-and-coming attorney accolades for his 2015 product liability and mass torts practice was James Murdica of the Chicago office, who joined the firm in January 2016. Additionally, in the nationwide category, the firm’s International Trade and Product Liability & Mass Torts practices were recognized. Karen McGee and Linda Weinberg were listed as nationwide recognized practitioners for their work in international trade.
