OVERVIEW

Jordan Weinstein focused his practice on counseling, licensing and litigation in U.S. and international trademark, patent, copyright, unfair competition, advertising, internet and high-technology matters. He offered first-chair trial experience in patent, trademark and domain name proceedings in federal district and appellate courts, as well as before the International Trade Commission.

Jordan thrived under the challenge of helping clients assemble their IP portfolio in a manner that protects their valuable intangible assets and maximized ROI. Chair of the firm’s trademark practice, Jordan assisted businesses and individual clients with domestic and international trademark and copyright registration, including protection for color, trade dress and design.

Jordan also worked diligently with clients on their advertising/promotional campaign review, and on their licensing agreements for patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. In addition, Jordan advised on IP portfolio acquisition, due diligence and management, and on virtually all aspects of IP litigation — from inception through settlement, trial and on appeal.

Jordan was dedicated to realizing each client’s commercial objectives and, simply, to making their professional life easier. By taking the time to understand each client’s business, Jordan was frequently able to anticipate individual needs in support of even the most ambitious long- and short-term plans of action. Jordan’s clients spanned numerous industries, including retail, food, prepaid/incentive solutions, public relations/marketing, restaurants, clothing, sports and recreation, communications, electronics, software, jewelry and satellite systems.

Relentless in the pursuit of his client’s market goals, Jordan was appreciated for his positive stance on finding solutions and answers that make sense under the law and for business. He was also valued for his intellectual acuity and curiosity in the face of highly technical subject matter, and courteousness when faced with contention, difficulty and/or disparate positions.

Prior to joining the firm, Jordan served as a partner at Oblon Spivak McClelland Maier & Neustadt, LLP. He is an author and lecturer on “Decisions of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the Federal Courts on Registrability Issues” for the International Trademark Association Annual Meeting and for Trademark Reporter, 2006-2011.
