As legal operations advisor-practice innovation, Brendan Miller leads our practice innovation team and works closely with the firm’s attorneys and other professionals, matter teams and client professionals to achieve greater value and excellence in its partnerships. His professional motivation is to effectively leverage best practices in legal matter management, including harnessing innovations in the use of people, process and technology to realize critical business objectives.
Brendan is an experienced attorney who has represented clients in the various phases of litigation and dispute resolution, in virtually all areas of complex business and commercial litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, multidistrict claims, trade secrets, antitrust, product liability, and tax. He has also provided clients with actionable guidance on statutory, regulatory and common law implications of prospective business transactions, negotiated and drafted contracts, and led organizations through entity incorporation and tax status documentation.
In practice, he advised clients on virtually all facets of e-discovery and management of electronically stored information in connection with litigation and investigative inquiries, including managing vendor relationships and employing cost saving measures that make use of appropriate technology tools. Brendan has also presented and moderated locally, regionally and nationally on the continuum of Knowledge Management and e-Discovery topics.
Brendan also brings to his role a decade of pre-law experience in the nonprofit sector. Trained and experienced in community problem solving, program and organizational development, and grounded by his personal moral compass, Brendan is dedicated to finding and creating practical approaches to overcoming obstacles that address the aspirations, concerns and business demands of those he serves.
While in law school, Brendan was an intern for the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Brendan is an active member of numerous legal technology and innovation, matter management and related associations driving cutting edge legal practice innovation developments. He is a certified trainer in legal project management by LawVision and a Certified ScrumMaster by ScrumAlliance.
