Lynne McMahan concentrates her practice in general business, corporate governance, banking, and securities law. With over three decades of transactional experience representing both for-profit and nonprofit entities, Lynne is known for her ability to manage complex acquisitions and business succession plans. Lynne also uses her detail-oriented focus to guide public companies through their securities compliance obligations.
Lynne advises both public and private business entities in connection with reorganization transactions including mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions such as debt and equity offerings, and general securities law compliance issues. Her securities law experience ranges from initial public offerings to going-private transactions, and virtually all the ongoing operational and compliance issues in between.
Lynne also advises for-profit and nonprofit business entities with respect to matters of organization and governance. With her business background, she takes a balanced and practical approach to providing solutions for contracting and day-to-day operational issues for both small and large business enterprises.
In addition, Lynne’s transactional projects, particularly with respect to banking and financial institutions, often involve sophisticated regulatory application and compliance issues.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, she served as counsel to a governmental pension plan and as legal vice president of a public corporation.
