Notre Dame Law Student Yasmeen Dohan Awarded 2024 Barnes & Thornburg Diversity Scholarship

INDIANAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg announced today that it has named first-year law student Yasmeen Dohan as a recipient of its 2024 1L Diversity Scholarship.

Dohan, who will join the firm’s Indianapolis office as a summer associate, is a student at Notre Dame Law School, where she is a member of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association and the Women’s Legal Forum.

“I feel incredibly grateful to have been awarded the Barnes & Thornburg 1L Diversity Scholarship,” said Dohan. “The opportunity to spend a summer with attorneys who are deeply committed to their work and creating an inclusive and diverse environment is a privilege not many law students receive. I look forward to connecting with more of the Barnes & Thornburg team this summer and learning from their experiences.”

Dohan earned her B.A., with distinction, in political science from the University of Michigan. Prior to law school, Dohan worked at two New York public relations firms.

“We are excited and honored to award our 1L Diversity Scholarship to Yasmeen and to welcome her to join our outstanding group of summer associates for 2024,” said David Durm, Indianapolis law student hiring partner. “Yasmeen’s resume and academic accomplishments are outstanding and we quickly learned she’d be a great fit with Barnes & Thornburg. We know she has a bright future ahead and we’re excited to be a part of that journey.”

“We are thrilled to award Yasmeen with one of our 2024 1L Diversity Scholarships,” said Dawn R. Rosemond, Barnes & Thornburg’s diversity partner. “Through advocacy and community service, Yasmeen exemplifies what it means to be a Diversity Scholarship recipient, and we are eager to welcome her to the firm.”

Barnes & Thornburg’s 1L Diversity Scholarship is open to first-year law students with a demonstrated commitment to contributing to the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals and promoting DEI generally in the legal profession.

With more than 800 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from offices in Atlanta, Boston, California, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, South Florida, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
