Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes New Attorneys and Legal Professionals

Barnes & Thornburg has added litigation attorneys and legal professionals to its Dallas, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York and Washington, D.C., offices.

Jean Carlson, of counsel in the Minneapolis office, offers a broad range of experience on legal issues affecting national security, including cross-border due diligence and classified and unclassified government investigations. She earned her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2006, her M.B.A. from Troy University in 1996 and her B.A. from the University of Alaska in 1995.

An associate in the Indianapolis office, Kristin Froehle represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters across numerous industries. She has experience in a range of substantive areas, including product liability, First Amendment, contract disputes, patent litigation, antitrust and False Claims Act matters. Froehle earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2019 and her B.S. from Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2014.

Jordan Ollestad, an associate in the New York office, focuses her practice on product liability and mass torts litigation, specifically the defense of drug and medical device manufacturers and retailers. She has experience in high-stakes multi-district litigation, class actions, and proceedings in various state and federal jurisdictions. Ollestad earned her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law in 2020 and her B.A. from Tulane University in 2012.

A nurse paralegal in the Dallas office, Lori Seifer focuses her services on insurance defense litigation, medical malpractice and personal injury. She has experience working on cases in a variety of medical specialties including labor and delivery, general surgery, anesthesia, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pediatrics and emergency room care. Seifer earned her A.A.S. in nursing from Grayson College in 1998.

An associate in the Los Angeles office, Caitlin Tassos has experience in nearly every stage of pre-trial litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and trial preparation. She defends clients in a wide variety of matters, including toxic tort litigation, product liability and general liability matters. Tassos earned her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2018 and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2015.

Gena Tayman, a staff attorney in the Washington, D.C., office, assists on large caseloads of various multi-district litigation matters. She focuses her work on product liability and mass tort litigation settlements, primarily for drug and medical device litigation. Tayman earned her J.D. from Duquesne Law School in 2002 and her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999.
