Derek will be helping to lend clarity surrounding the use of chlorinated solvents across industries. You will learn what they are, where they are found, why they are of concern, and what you can do about them.

2020 Outlook

Bruce Oertel, Remediation Services Branch Chief, Indiana Department of Environmental Management Remediation Program

Bruce will highlight IDEM’s priorities and focus for 2020. He also will discuss new IDEM initiatives regarding the next version of its remediation program guidance, dry cleaner database, and long-term stewardship.

Insurance Recovery

Carrie M. Raver, Partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP

Carrie will review best practices on obtaining legacy insurance policies to cover environmental liabilities. She will cover the strategies to use to recover insurance proceeds for complex, long-tail environmental claims. You will learn about archaeology work to identify lost or misplaced policies, effective insurance claim resolution without litigation, and how to obtain payment from insolvent insurers and Lloyd’s of London insurers.
