It's not if, it's when. And when it happens, what do you do?

When a data breach happens, how will your business react? Who do you talk to? Where do you even start?

On May 21, 2015, Rook Security, Cloud One, Consolidated Data Services and Barnes & Thornburg LLP will conduct an interactive, hands-on workshop that will teach you best practices for how to respond to a data breach to minimize the damage to your business. Just as importantly, we’ll teach you how to better prepare your company for the next one.

Data breaches affect everyone, no matter the size of your company. Whether it’s personal information of your customers, medical records and other health information, credit cards and financial information, trade secrets, or intellectual property – a data breach can create enormous costs and liability for your company.

Our speakers work in the trenches of data privacy and cybersecurity every day. By walking you through a real-world data breach scenario, they will help you understand what happens when a security incident occurs, the processes by which you best respond to a data breach, how best to minimize your liability, and how best to mitigate the risk and cost of the inevitable data breach by maintaining targeted cyber insurance policies. We will explore the state and federal statutory and regulatory requirements that govern the use, collection and retention of particular types of information, as well as notification requirements if a data breach occurs. You will learn about best practices for a comprehensive risk management process so you can handle any data breach of cybersecurity incident.

Increasingly, it’s not if a data incident will hit your organization, it’s when. Please join us to learn how you can be prepared.
