Cheryl A. Gonzalez Of Counsel
Cheryl focuses her environmental practice primarily on state and federal regulatory issues related to the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, but her experience includes numerous areas of environmental law, including asbestos concerns, solid and hazardous waste matters, site remediation and underground storage tanks.
Previously, Cheryl served as Air Program Counsel to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). In this capacity, she provided legal guidance to the Indiana Office of Air Quality's permitting, compliance and state program development branches. Cheryl also represented the state agency in matters that were both adverse to and in coordination with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prior to working at IDEM, Cheryl spent nearly four years as an associate attorney in the private practice of environmental law covering all media ' air, water, and land. She counseled clients on regulatory obligations, day-to-day compliance matters and negotiated with regulators regarding enforcement and permitting actions. Cheryl has worked with several Fortune 500 companies in an advisory role and on litigation matters and has assisted with the representation of her clients before administrative, state and federal courts.
