Phillip (“Rocky”) T. Scaletta is an associate in Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Indianapolis, Indiana office. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Department. His practice focuses on patent preparation, prosecution, and associated matters in the electrical, computer, and software arts. Mr. Scaletta has experience with many computer technologies, including applications software (such as networking, database access, and multithreaded user interface applications), systems software, and digital logic circuit design.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Mr. Scaletta served as an associate at Hoover Hull LLP, where he practiced complex business litigation. Mr. Scaletta also served as a summer associate for McTurnan & Turner and a summer intern for the Marion Superior Court, Civil 1.
Mr. Scaletta earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2008, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal Board of Editors, and an active participant in Moot Court. Mr. Scaletta earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering with distinction from Purdue University in 2002.
Before attending law school, Mr. Scaletta was a software developer for August Mack Environmental, Inc., an environmental engineering consulting firm located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Scaletta designed and implemented compliance systems for environmental regulations.
Mr. Scaletta is a member of the American, Indiana State, and Indianapolis Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Indiana.
