Matt Hohman is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate Department. He represents clients in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and other general business matters. A significant portion of Mr. Hohman’s practice is dedicated to counseling businesses regarding technology transactions. Mr. Hohman regularly drafts and negotiates software license agreements, web and ASP hosting agreements, SaaS agreements, outsourcing agreements, OEM agreements, and agreements relating to e-commerce. Mr. Hohman also assists companies who are purchasing or selling intellectual property, often as a part of the sale of a business.
A special focus of Mr. Hohman’s technology transaction practice is healthcare technology. He is the co-chair of the Firm’s Healthcare Technology Practice Group and has counseled numerous clients regarding all issues relating to electronic medical records systems and the regulatory compliance and structure associated with them.
Mr. Hohman is also a member of the Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department. In that capacity, he has extensive experience representing financial institutions in matters relating to financing, loan workouts and insolvency proceedings.
Mr. Hohman graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Huntington University and also received a master’s degree from Indiana University. He received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he graduated cum laude, served as a managing editor of the University of Minnesota Law Review, and taught classes for the University of Minnesota Carlton School of Business.
