Mary Sennes is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Minneapolis office where she practices in the firm’s Corporate Department. She has a background in the agriculture, food and renewable energy industries.

Ms. Sennes concentrates her practice in mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities and general securities law compliance, and complex commercial contract negotiations. She has a versatile portfolio, which includes advising clients in merger and acquisition deals and serving as counsel to start-up companies. Her experience representing companies with agricultural and renewable energy ties is deep and ranges from food producers to biofuel technology companies and mineral processing facilities.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Ms. Sennes was an associate practicing in the corporate department of Stoel Rives LLP. While at Stoel Rives, Sennes contributed numerous presentations and publications relating to corporate law and green industry.

Ms. Sennes is a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Minnesota Chapter) and Women in Wind Energy. She serves on the board of directors for COMPAS, an arts education nonprofit organization, and Windustry, a nonprofit organization focused on community energy.

Ms. Sennes earned her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame.
