Levi W. Heath is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Barnes & Thornburg, and is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Heath focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation. His practice includes toxic torts, product liability, premises liability, consumer class action defense, wage and hour class action defense and contractual disputes. Mr. Heath has handled all aspects of litigation, from the pleading stage through trial and appeal.
Mr. Heath was most recently trial counsel for an event planning and production company in a two-week jury trial, which resulted in a successful settlement for his client.
Mr. Heath’s recent experience also includes representing:
- global ink manufacturer in toxic tort/product liability actions
- manufacturer in Prop 65 action
- non-profit membership association in actions involving allegations of marketing fraud
- marketing company in action involving allegations of trademark infringement
- financial services companies in actions involving competing claims to annuity and life insurance proceeds
- employee of a leading financial institution in action involving mortgage transactions
- financial services company in class action involving mortgage transactions
- national retailer in wage and hour class actions and other employment disputes
- national retailer in consumer class actions
Mr. Heath received his B.S. cum laude from the University of Utah in 1999. He received his J.D. in 2002 from the UCLA School of Law, where he served as an editor of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Mr. Heath was recognized as a Southern California “Rising Star” in 2004 and 2005 by Los Angeles Magazine. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Mr. Heath was counsel in the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
Mr. Heath is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California.
Mr. Heath is also active in his community. He serves on the board of directors of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and is the president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the University of Utah Alumni Association.
