J. Scott Troeger is the Managing Partner in the Elkhart, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg, LLP and serves on the firm's management committee. He is a partner in the Corporate Department with 25 years of experience in counselling and advising businesses. Elkhart County, Indiana is among the most entrepreneurial areas in the nation, which produces an active merger and acquisition environment and attracts foreign investment in addition to generating a spectrum of other business legal requirements.
Mr. Troeger's practice includes assisting clients with acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, corporate governance, strategic planning, restructurings, joint ventures, commercial contracts, licensing agreements, private placements of securities, real estate transactions and other business needs. In addition, he represents various foreign companies in connection with their acquisitions and divestiture strategies and other business related legal requirements throughout the United States, including companies based in the United Kingdom, France, Sweden and Switzerland. Mr. Troeger also provides legal advice to financial institutions including commercial and real estate transactions, and serves healthcare entities with governance and other legal assistance.
Mr. Troeger attended DePauw University where he graduated with a B.A. in 1978, and he received his J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in 1981. He is admitted to practice in the states of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
