Hillary J. Close is of counsel in the firm’s Indianapolis, Indiana office. She practices primarily in the Governmental Services Department.
Ms. Close represents energy, water and wastewater utilities, local governments and other business entities. Her practice includes rate cases, financings, investigations, rulemakings and acquisitions before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission and municipal annexations. She advises utility and non-utility clients on transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions and debt and equity offerings. She also assists clients with general securities law compliance issues (including 1934 Act reporting requirements) and business entity formation and governance matters. In 2009, Ms. Close was selected for inclusion as an "Indiana Rising Star" by Indiana Super Lawyers®.
Ms. Close received her J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Journal of International Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ms. Close is admitted to practice in Illinois, Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of Indiana. She is a member of the Illinois State and Indiana State Bar Associations.
