Esther D. Bowers, Director of Client Service Initiatives

Esther Bowers is the Director of Client Service Initiatives at Barnes & Thornburg LLP and is responsible for managing the firm’s client-facing services, including value-add offerings, legal project management efforts, and client feedback and formal client service programs. Ms. Bowers partners with attorney teams to manage the operational functions to enhance the client-firm working relationship.

Ms. Bowers serves as co-creator of the firm’s BT ValueWorks program, which is a suite of pricing, process, program and technology solutions that increase collaboration and improve efficiency to bring greater value to the delivery of legal service. She is responsible for the firm’s legal project management (LPM) efforts including the LPM program implementation as well as training, and counseling attorneys on LPM and process improvement. As part of the firm’s ValueWorks approach, Ms. Bowers also leads the firm’s Client Service Program, which includes implementing customized client service plans for key clients of the firm, client research and client visits by firm managing partners.

Ms. Bowers has been with Barnes & Thornburg for eight years, beginning as a business development manager. Drawing on her prior experience working in legal education for the American Bar Association, Ms. Bowers has been a member of the firm’s BTLaw Academy Committee for seven years and is responsible for creating programming related to client service, business development and attorney development.

Ms. Bowers has presented on legal project management for ALAS, ABA, PLI as well as other industry programs. She has also presented on client value for LMA podcasts and contributed to ABA publications. Ms. Bowers received her B.S. in finance from University of Illinois in Chicago and is certified as a trainer in legal project management by LawVision and has her White Belt from Legal Lean Sigma Institute LLC.
