David Gotlieb is a partner in the Minneapolis, Minnesota office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where he is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.
Mr. Gotlieb’s practice focuses on advising closely held businesses in their everyday matters, including business agreements, transactions, employment law, corporate governance and shareholder value issues. He also assists clients on such critical corporate matters as accountability of executive personnel, executive compensation and the selection and role of boards of directors.
Mr. Gotlieb’s career began as a tax specialist and he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He worked for two years in the United States Senate as a principal aide on tax and business matters.
Mr. Gotlieb received his B.S. in 1980 from the University of Minnesota, and his J.D. in 1983 from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Mr. Gotlieb currently serves, regularly advises or has served as a director or member of the board of advisors for Integra Insurance, Alliance Steel, Liberty Diversified Industries, Minneapolis Jewish Foundation, Home Valu, Tamar Fink Insurance, Phillips Eye Institute, Zel Laser & Skin Care, and KWA Metals.
Mr. Gotlieb is a member of the American and Minnesota Bar Associations, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he is former legal counsel to United States Senator Rudy Boschwitz (R-Minn.).
He is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
