David Farrell is the director of human resources at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where he is responsible for all human resource matters regarding staff and legal personnel within the firm. This includes the administration of the process for hiring, assignments, supervision, evaluation, discipline, termination, salary administration and recordkeeping. He works with the firm's Legal Personnel Administration Committee, Diversity Committee and Pension & Benefits Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Mr. Farrell spent 20 years working in law firm administration with two other Indiana law firms. He was the charter president of the Northern Indiana Chapter (NIALA) of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), served on the ALA's International Board of Directors, chaired the Human Resources Education Section and chaired two of its annual education conferences. He currently serves on the ALA Committee on Diversity and the Friends of the Library Board of the Allen County Public Library.

Mr. Farrell received a B.A. in secondary education as well as an M.B.A. from the University of Saint Francis. He is currently a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, NIALA and ALA.
