Taylor L. Hunter is a staff attorney and member of the Labor and Employment Law Department in Barnes & Thornburg’s Indianapolis office. Ms. Hunter focuses her practice in the area of education law with an emphasis on employment, student disability matters and contract negotiations.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg as a staff attorney, Ms. Hunter gained experience as an associate with an Indianapolis-based law firm where she assisted in the areas of family law, traffic issues, small claims, criminal law and litigation.

Ms. Hunter received her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2015. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Hunter earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University in 2012, on a Lilly Endowment Full Scholarship. While in law school, Ms. Hunter received the Pro Bono Service Recognition, participated in the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition and the Women’s Law Caucus and was IRS-certified in tax preparation with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

Ms. Hunter is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Associations and the Indiana Council of School Attorneys. Active in the community, she has volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and with Kids’ Voice of Indiana as a guardian ad litem for children in guardianship, adoption, dissolution of marriage, and paternity cases.

Ms. Hunter is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
