Interdisciplinary Group

Our Financial Institutions Practice Group includes members who practice in a variety of areas of law, including business, bond, finance, insolvency and restructuring, litigation, taxation, real estate, and environmental law. This interdisciplinary approach permits us to offer legal services to assist financial institutions in disputes and issues that cross a multitude of legal disciplines. Our Financial Institutions Practice Group has extensive experience in the full range of insolvency matters, from out-of-court restructurings to formal reorganization, sale and liquidation proceedings. We have represented a broad range of financial institutions and financing sources in connection with financially distressed businesses.

Securities Litigation
Attorneys in our Litigation Department have represented regional banks in complex consumer and commercial litigation. In addition, our litigation lawyers work closely with our restructuring attorneys to handle the workouts of distressed credits, and representations in foreclosure and pre-bankruptcy cases.

Intellectual Property
Our intellectual property (IP) lawyers assist financial institutions in trademark and other branding matters, patent prosecution and defense, and IP strategy including licensing. Our IP lawyers have experience working with large national banks as well as local institutions. In addition, our lawyers have handled large technology and facilities outsourcing assignments.

Real Estate
Financial institutions often have significant real estate holdings. We offer a large and diverse team of experienced real estate lawyers with expertise in development, acquisition and leasing, ongoing facilities management, and real estate tax issues.
